School Trips
Learning is about more than just what happens in the classroom! At Honley we offer a very wide range of extra-curricular activities including residential trips.
To cement the team building work we do during transition, all Year 7 students are invited to take part in a residential visit. During this trip they experience a range of fun and challenging activities. They learn to respect each other’s point of view and develop their interpersonal skills.
There’s plenty of different opportunities for adventure across all of our subjects. Residential trips may include: Languages trip to and Cantabria, skiing in France or Italy, theatre trip to London, Science trip to London, Humanities trips to Belgium and Poland and much more.
You’ll find more information on upcoming trips on this page and download letters. We will always communicate directly with parents about upcoming opportunities for your child. Some financial support may be available for eligible students.
Year 10 Work Experience in Spain
Year 9 History Trip to Krakow and Auschwitz
TUESDAY 10 OCTOBER - FRIDAY 13 OCTOBER 2023
Experience European history through this memorable trip to Poland. Students will visit former concentration camp sites at Krakow and Auschwitz, explore Krakow on a guided tour, visit the Galicia Jewish Museum, the Schlindler Museum and the Wieliczka Salt Mine. A truly unforgettable trip which will be closely linked to their studies in History, and invaluable for any students wishing to study GCSE History.
Ambassador Leadership Residential
WEDNESDAY 21 FEBRUARY - THURSDAY 22 FEBRUARY 2024
We’re very excited about this first joint trip for student leaders from Together Learning Trust secondary schools. On this two day residential students will focus on self development, planning and leadership through a mix of indoor and outdoor activities. They’ll build confidence, communication skills and come back enthused and equipped to make a difference in school. Open only to our Ambassador team from years 8-11.
Ski Trip

The Honley Ski Trip is one of the highlights of the school calendar for Year 11 students. Whether your a beginner or an advanced skier, it’s a brilliant way to build confidence, strengthen friendships and make memories to last a lifetime.
